It’s not always sunshine and rainbows in the world of blogging. No matter how passionate and creative we try to be with it, there are simply times when blogging motivations kicks in. While it’s a normal thing to not feel like blogging sometimes, you also need to consider a lot of things because it can affect your blog’s performance. More importantly, it can also have a great impact on your business. It’s not an easy decision to make especially when you have other things to do as well. But before you quit blogging, you might want to consider a few things to motivate yourself. After all, a little motivation goes a long way.
Ask yourself again why you started blogging in the first place.
When we feel demotivated in blogging, sometimes, it’s because we don’t know what our goals are. Some people blog to make money. Some want to have a platform where they can be creative. Others just simply want to do it for the sake of doing it. If you have forgotten why you started blogging in the first place, ask yourself again. And once you know it, you will be able to realign your goals and be motivated to blog again for the right reasons.
Cut yourself some slack.
If you have a day job or if you are running a business while blogging, chances are, you will have so many things to juggle at the same time. And when you get extremely busy with so many things, you will get demotivated to blog because you will prioritize first what you think is more important. Try to cut yourself some slack by getting rid of activities that will take up your time from blogging. This way, you have time allotted to actually blog and it will get your creative juices flowing again.
Read other blogs.
One of the best ways of blogging motivations is by reading the works of others. You get inspired to blog if you search for that perfect inspiration in others. Reading other blogs allows you to reflect on what you also want. For example, if you have run out of ideas to write about, reading other people’s content will somehow give you an idea of what you should write next. And if you see other’s success, it will also get you moving towards your blogging goals.
Change your blog’s theme.
Oftentimes, what makes a blogger demotivated is his or her blog’s look. Remember, your blog’s design matters. Change it up a little bit. Who knows, it might actually motivate you to create more content for your blog. Sometimes, a change in blog appearance is all you need to get started again.
Go on a quick hiatus.
While this may be an unpopular tip, but it actually helps when you step back from things for a while. You may be going through some difficult things in life or you just don’t have the energy to start blogging again. Going on a quick hiatus will allow you to see things from afar and think more. Once your little ‘vacation’ is over, you will for sure churn out better ideas for your blog again.
